| Abstract: | В статье рассматривается морфологический аспект стилистического приема выдвижения в современных британских и американских художественных и газетных текстах. Стилистическая транспозиция представляет собой перенос грамматической формы в необычный контекст. В работе исследуется субстантивация как вид транспозиции, в частности использование модального глагола must и составных глагольных сказуемых с глаголами must и can в роли существительных. Основными функциями морфологического вида выдвижения называются стремление к языковой новизне и, особенно, выделение прагматически важных элементов текста, эмфатический эффект. |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article considers the morphological aspect of the stylistic device of foregrounding in the contemporary British and American literary and newspaper texts. Stylistic transposition is the transfer of a grammar form into unusual context. In the paper substantivation is investigated as a type of transposition , in particular the use of modal verb must and the compound verbal predicates with the verbs must and can as nouns. The major functions of this morphological type of foregrounding are determined as the striving for language novelty, and, especially, underlining the pragmatically significant text elements, the emphatic effect as well as evaluative connotations. |
