Abstract: This work is performed to identify the objectives of the competitiveness of medium-sized enterprises in the food industry in the city of Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico, and identify the factors that companies consider important to establish a strategic alliance with other organizations to increase their competitive level as a possibility strengthened or consolidated. The formation of strategic alliances are used to: facilitate business access to other markets, achieve cooperation in research and development, technology transfer, and to share risks in an uncertain environment. This provides a competitive advantage for companies to stay in the globalized environment. It deals with the results obtained in research carried out under competitive conditions of medium-sized firms in Morelia and interest in forming alliances with other organizations to become more competitive to enter other countries and occupy new markets.
