Abstract:	Тнe history of the Belarusian translation of the lyric and epic poem «Simon the Musician» (1924–1925) by Yakub Kolas into the Russian language is under analysis. The objective and subjective factors that lead to the essential impoverishment of the poem’s content and the violation of the creative idea of the author, the simplification of the idea and artistic concept interpretation of the literary work are described in the article. = Рассматривается история перевода выдающегося произведения белорусской литературы – лиро-эпической поэмы Якуба Коласа «Сымон-музыкант» (1924–1925) на русский язык. Устанавливаются объективные причины и субъективные факторы, приведшие к существенному обеднению содержания поэмы в русскоязычном варианте, к нарушению творческой воли автора, упрощенной трактовке идейно-художественной концепции произведения.
