Abstract:	В статье анализируется сущностное содержание понятия «культура» в трактовке ее исследователями западных и восточных цивилизаций. В течение многих столетий данное понятие западными мыслителями применялось в рамках латинской традиции, т. е. в сочетании с чем-то. Интерпретация его сущностного и содержательного значения началась на рубеже ХIХ–ХХ вв. Понятие культуры рассматривалось как совокупность высших ценностей и смыслов, артефактов и духовных движущих сил, необходимых молодому поколению в их будущей жизнедеятельности. В восточном гуманитарном знании понятие «культура» встречается в литературных памятниках уже в I в. до н. э. Например, в Китае оно соотносилось с формированием духовного мира подрастающего поколения.
Abstract (in another language):	The article analyzes the essential content of the concept of “culture” as interpreted by researchers of Western and Eastern civilizations. For many centuries, this concept has been used by Western thinkers within the framework of the Latin tradition, i.e. in combination with something. The interpretation of its essential and meaningful meaning began at the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It was considered as a set of higher values and meanings, artifacts and spiritual driving forces necessary for the younger generation in their future life. In Eastern humanitarian knowledge, the concept of “culture” is found in literary monuments as early as the 1st century BC. For example, in China it correlated with the formation of the spiritual world of the younger generation.
