| Abstract: | Статья посвящена императору Священной Римской империи, королю Германии и Чехии Карлу IV Люксембургу. Карл считал культуру составной частью политики. Став королем, он сделал Чехию центром империи. Желая видеть новую столицу достойной лучших европейских резиденций, Карл собрал лучших архитекторов и художников из Франции и Германии, начал реконструкцию столицы. Центр Праги — лучший пример градостроительной концепции императора. В период его правления был отреставрирован Пражский Град, заложен собор Святого Вита, основан Пражский университет, построена загородная резиденция замок Карлштейн и т. д. |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article is dedicated to the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, King of Germany and the Czech Republic Charles IV of Luxembourg. Charles considered culture an integral part of politics. Having become king, he made the Czech Republic the center of the empire. Wanting to see the new capital worthy of the best European residences, Charles gathered the best architects and artists from France and Germany; he began the reconstruction of the capital. The center of Prague is the best example of the emperor's urban development concept. During his reign, Prague Castle was restored, St. Vitus Cathedral was founded, Prague University was founded, a country residence Karlštejn Castle, etc. were built. |
