| Abstract: | В статье рассматриваются варианты визуальной репрезентации дьявола в литературных текстах, в частности, в английской драматургии XVI-XVII веков. Выявляются причины выбора той или иной формы демонической фигуры и очерчиваются релевантные английские контексты. В статье изучается процесс проникновения образа дьявола-фамильяра в драму из протоколов реальных процессов над ведьмами в разных частях Англии. В статье уделяется внимание процессу карнавализации дьявола и неизменным характеристикам дьявола в народном сознании (воплощенность, выделенность, отвратительность и др.) |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article examines the variants of visual representation of the devil in literary texts, in particular in the XVIth–XVIIth centuries’ English drama. The paper reveals the reasons for choosing one or another form of the demonic figure and outlines the relevant English contexts. The paper shows the process of the infiltration of the image of the famillary devil into drama from the records of actual witch trials in different parts of England. The article identifies the process of carnivalisation of the devil and pays attention to the invariable characteristics of the devil in the popular consciousness (incarnation, singularity, repulsiveness, etc.) |
