| Abstract: | Статья посвящена реконструкции семантики иероглифа 妆 (妝) с опорой на экстралингвистические факторы – культурные традиции древних китайцев. Выдвинуто предположение, что рассматриваемая логограмма получила значение ‘косметика, грим; прихорашиваться, совершать туалет; притворятся, прикидываться’ от одного из следующих действий: призывания души больного/умирающего шаманкой, которая наряжалась в специальный костюм и маску; ритуала замещения умершего живым двойником, для обращения к душе/духу покойного; специфики погребального обряда, предполагавшего окрашивание тел умерших |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article is devoted to semantic reconstruction of the 妆 (妝) character based on extralinguistic factors – cultural traditions of ancient Chinese people. It has been assumed that the logogram has got the following meaning, that is ‘cosmetic, makeup; to adorn oneself, to dress up; to pretend, to fake’, from one of the following acts: summoning the soul of the diseased/dying man by a shaman dressed in special clothes and a mask; ritual of substitution of the deceased with an alive doppelganger to address to the deceased person’s soul/spirit; a specific funeral tradition, involving body paint of the deceased person |
