Abstract: The article deals with some new results that are concerned with Newton-Kantorovich method for finding minimum points for smooth functionals. Under condition when the derivative (gradient) of the functional at some point is given and some information about the spectrum of the corresponding hessian is presented, the following values are estimated: the radius of a minimal ball containing the critical points, the radius of maximal ball on which this critical point is a minimum point and the radius of maximal ball on which this critical point is unique
