| Abstract: | В докладе показывается, что сохранение поста дуки в Эдессе могло быть демонстрацией уважения крестоносцев к традициям городского самоуправления и/или к особому статусу Эдессы как первого города, принявшего христианство. В результате была обеспечена лояльность горожан. Можно предположить, что должность дука существовала и в других городах графства. |
| Abstract (in another language): | The report argues that the retention of the post of duka in Edessa may have been a demonstration of respect of the crusaders for the traditions of urban self-government and/or for the special status of Edessa as the first city adopted Christianity. As a result, the loyalty of the townspeople was ensured. It can be assumed that the post of duka existed in other cities of the county. |
