Abstract: Existing analytical models are not adequate for a wide class of traffic scenarios in modern telecommunication networks with self-similar data flows. For purpose to define which traffic distribution should be utilized when modelling networks with these traffic patterns maximum entropy method is applied to derive unique solution for packet arrivals distribution. For testing self-similar properties of obtained distribution simulation results have been used.
