Abstract: The influence of the gold nanoparticles morphology on the development of the latent fingerprints was investigated. It was shown that for the effective latent fingerprint detection the gold particle size and solution concentration must be equal to 3,0÷5,0 nm and 1·10–3 М consequently. The fingerprints, detected by the sodium oleate stabilized gold nanoparicles, are contrast, have a good papil- lary pattern and provide effective identification of the latent fingerprints under forensic investigations. As opposed to the multi-metal deposition method the gold solutions, stabilized by sodium oleate, detect the latent fingerprints without additional enhancement by silver nitrate.
