| Abstract: | This paper deals with testing nonparametric hypotheses against ordered al- ternatives. The test statistics proposed are based on the number of observations from one sample that precede or exceed a threshold specified by the other sam- ples. The approach consists of defining two sets of rankings: the first is induced by the alternative and the other by the data itself. The test statistic measures the distance between the two sets. |
