| Abstract: | В статье исследуется динамика идиоматичности композитов английского языка, рассматривается процесс перехода от буквального значения к метафорическому под влиянием культурных, социальных и исторических факторов. Автор анализирует особенности семантической непрозрачности композитов, выявляя их роль в языковой картине мира. Примеры из разных периодов и контекстов демонстрируют, как слова сохраняют идиоматичность, развивают новые значения или требуют культурной интерпретации. Результаты работы позволяют глубже понять механизмы формирования и эволюции идиоматичных композитов, а также их значимость как отражения менталитета и исторического опыта носителей английского языка |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article explores the dynamics of idiomaticity in English compounds, examining the process of transitioning from literal to metaphorical meanings under the influence of cultural, social, and historical factors. The author analyzes the features of semantic opacity in compounds, highlighting their role in the linguistic worldview. Examples from various historical periods and contexts demonstrate how words retain idiomaticity, develop new meanings, or require cultural interpretation. The results provide a deeper understanding of the mechanisms behind the formation and evolution of idiomatic compounds, as well as their significance as reflections of the mentality and historical experience of English speakers |
