| Abstract: | У артыкуле разгледжана міжнародная сітуацыя, што прывяла да пачатку вайны паміж Угандай і Танзаніяй у кастрычніку 1978 г., а таксама спробы міжнароднага пасярэдніцтва з мэтай урэгулявання гэтага канфлікта. Праналізавана развіццё Танзаніі, Уганды і Кеніі ў першыя два дзесяцігоддзі пасля набыцця імі незалежнасці ад Вялікабрытаніі і правал першых спроб стварэння Ўсходнеафрыканскай Супольнасці. Адлюстравана роля, якую адыгралі ў складанні канфліктнай сітуацыі асобы палітычных лідэраў Уганды і Танзаніі — І. Аміна і Дж. Ньерэрэ, а таксама той знешнепалітычны курс, які яны праводзілі. Прыведзены меркаванні наконт таго, як гэты ваенны канфлікт упісваўся ў тагачасныя рэаліі халоднай вайны |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article examines the international situation that led to the beginning of the war between Uganda and Tanzania in October 1978, as well as international mediation attempts aimed to resolve this conflict. The development of Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya in the first two decades after their independence from Great Britain and the failure of the first attempts to create the East African Community are analyzed. The role played by political leaders of Uganda and Tanzania — I. Amin and J. Nyerere, as well as the foreign policy course they pursued is revealed. Considerations are given about how this military conflict fi t into the realities of the Cold War at the time |
