| Abstract: | В статье рассматриваются основные события, связанные с выездом населения с территории Западной Беларуси в США в межвоенный период (1918–1939). Проанализированы предпосылки и причины выезда белорусского населения, отношение правительства Польши в этом вопросе, а также законодательство и политика США в отношении иммигрантов. Кроме этого отмечены основные тенденции общественной и культурной деятельности белорусов в Соединённых Штатах, уровень организованности белорусской диаспоры и взаимодействия с другими славянскими диаспорами |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article examines the main events related to the departure of the population from the territory of Western Belarus to the United States in the interwar period of 1918–1921. The prerequisites and reasons for the departure of the Belarusian population, the attitude of the Polish government in this matter, as well as the legislation and policy of the United States regarding immigrants are analyzed. In addition, the main trends in the social and cultural activities of Belarusians in the United States, the level of formation of the Belarusian diaspora and interaction with other Slavic diasporas were noted |
