| Abstract: | Статья описывает одну из современных тенденций в еврейской историографии – работу с архетипами, т.е. обнаружение образа, который объяснял бы модель поведения определенной группы населения на протяжении какого-либо исторического периода. Такими архетипами среди еврейских историков стали Дочери Тевье – героини цикла произведений Шолом-Алейхема «Тевье-молочник». В статье излагается концепция книги американского историка Сары Зайдес Tevye’s Ottoman Daughter: Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jews at the End of Empire («Османская дочь Тевье: ашекеназы и сефарды в конце империи»), вышедшей в стамбульском издательстве Libra Kitap в 2022 г. Автор книги реконструирует тот небольшой экзистенциальный и политический выбор, который существовал перед Дочерью Тевье (т.е. перед евреями из России) в Османской империи: 1) маргинализация, 2) эмансипация, 3) территориализм и 4) сионизм |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article is devoted to one modern trend in Jewish historiography – work with archetypes, that is to say discovery of an image that could explain a behavioral pattern of a certain group of people during a historical period. Tevye’s Daughters, the characters of Sholem Aleichem’s “Tevye the Milkman,” became those archetypes among Jewish historians. The article outlines the concept of the book by an American historian Sarah M. Zaides “Tevye’s Ottoman Daughter: Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jews at the End of Empire,” published by the Istanbul publishing house Libra Kitap in 2022. The author of the book reconstructs the existential and political choice before Tevye's Ottoman Daughter (i.e. before Jews from Russia in the Ottoman Empire): 1) marginalization, 2) emancipation, 3) territorialism and 4) Zionism |
