Причина этого интереса проста: перевод Библии, выполненный в позднем средневековье, представлял собой совершенно уникальное явление. Во время переводческой деятельности виклифиты столкнулись с многочисленными проблемами, начиная от трудностей перевода-кальки и до запрета чтения Библии на родном языке католической церковью. В процессе перевода Библии Виклиф выявил определенные закономерности и принципы переводческой деятельности, во многом опередившие свое время. | dc.description.alternative | John’s Wycliffe’s Bible is of great importance for theologians, historians, bible scholars and linguists. The reason for this is obvious: the translation of the Bible made in the late period of Middle Ages was a unique matter. During the translation wycliffites faced numerous problems from difficulties with the loan translation to the prohibition of reading the Bible in native language by the Catholic church. During the process of translation Wycliffe revealed certain patterns and principles of translation, that were ahead of his time.
