Abstract: The paper presents studies that describe the influence of external conditions on the operation of the cooling system of the power unit of the Belarusian NPP, the main elements of which are a condenser and an evaporative cooling tower. The impact of ambient temperature on the performance of the cooling tower has been assessed. Calculation substantiation of thermotechnical and hydrodynamic parameters of the cooling system has been carried out, allowing to estimate turbine power losses when the heat removal from the cooling tower changes. It is shown how much the turbine power decreases with an increase in the water temperature at the condenser inlet, and, accordingly, an increase in the pressure in the condenser.
