| Abstract: | Russia’s expulsion from the Council of Europe on March 16, 2022 has brought serious and unique legal consequences. The article addresses one of the most important implications concerning the applicability of the European Convention on Human Rights and jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights. The article reveals the history of relations between Russia and the Council of Europe, Russia’s exit from the Council of Europe and clarifies what Russia’s removal as a State party to the Council of Europe means in practice |
