| Abstract: | Сегодня мир стоит на пороге цифровой революции, которая затронет все сферы общественной жизни. Криптовалюты являются одной из наиболее актуальных тем, когда речь заходит о диджитализации экономики. В данной статье дается характеристика криптовалют, как нового финансового инструмента, а также отдельно описывается технология blockchain, являющаяся основой их функционирования. Исследованы дискуссионные вопросы сущности криптовалюты. Сегодня криптовалюты выступают как специфический цифровой актив, обладающий рядом качеств, которые в дальнейшем могут позволить стать ему конкурентом фиатным валютам |
| Abstract (in another language): | Today, the world is on the verge of a digital revolution that will affect all spheres of public life. Cryptocurrencies are one of the most relevant topics when it comes to digitalization of the economy. This article describes cryptocurrencies as a new financial instrument, and also separately describes the blockchain technology that is the basis of their functioning. The debatable issues of the essence of cryptocurrency are investigated. Today, cryptocurrencies act as a specific digital asset with a number of qualities that may allow it to become a competitor to fiat currencies in the future |
