| Abstract: | The article considers the positions the EU member-states take concerning the EU enlargement to the East. Special attention is given to the analysis of the stand of the three biggest countries: Germany, Great Britain and France. The article explores the correlation of the enlargement and deepening processes in the EU strategy from the point of v i ew of certain member-states. Main motivations of different attitudes of the member-states towards the EU eastern enlargement are described and latent contradictions of these attitudes are revealed. |
