| Abstract: | Галльские вспомогательные отряды составляли от трети до половины численности армии Цезаря. Особенно значительную роль играли отряды кавалерии, набиравшиеся из числа галльской аристократии. Отношения Цезаря с этими воинами носили очень личный характер и не прекратились с окончанием завоевания. Многие сопровождали Цезаря в ходе Гражданских войн. Их потомки продолжали служить в римской армии. Они стали родоначальниками новой галло-римской элиты императорского времени |
| Abstract (in another language): | From a third to half of Caesar's army consisted of Gallic auxiliary. Especially important were Gallic cavalry detachments, recruited from local aristocracy. Caesar's relationship with these warriors were very personal and did not stop with the end of the conquest. Many Gaules accompanied Caesar during the Civil Wars. Their descendants continued to serve in the Roman army. They became the ancestors of the new Gallo-Roman elite of the imperial period |
