Abstract:	В статье рассматривается одна из актуальных проблем в отечественной историографии – становление системы государственного управления путями сообщения в Виленской, Витебской, Гродненской, Минской и Могилевской губерниях Российской империи во второй половине XVIII – первой половине XIX в. Особое внимание уделяется определению особенностей структурных элементов органов управления транспортом, выявлению их функциональных обязанностей в связи с изменениями стратегических задач государства, анализу кадрового состава учреждений путей сообщения.
Abstract (in another language):	The article deals with one of the urgent problems in native historiography - the formation of the system of state management of communication routes in the Vilna, Vitebsk, Grodno, Minsk and Mogilev provinces of the Russian Empire at the beginning of the 19 century. Special attention is paid to defining the features of the structural elements of transport management departments, identifying their functional responsibilities in connection with changes in the strategic objectives of the state, and analyzing the personnel composition of transport departments.
