Abstract: | The partition of the derivatives of benzene, which contain from two to six substituents in the molecule, has been studied at 20±1°С in n-octane – water extraction system. The difference between the experimental and calculated partition constant (Δlog P) was introduced as a measure of intramolecular interaction effect. We have shown that Δlog P lies the range from –1,1 to 9,0 and depends on the nature and number of substituents. The interpretation of the nature of positive, negative and non-significantly nonzero Δlog P is given.
