Abstract: | Due to globalization international teams are becoming everyday reality for many companies, joining together people from all over the world. It puts managers in difficult situation dealing with all the communication, cultural and scheduling problems. That why it is necessary to be aware of national characteristics of different countries. The article clarifies Shigeki Hakamada’s theory about the division of our world into 3 groups of countries – «clay», «bricks» and «sand» with the help of Geert Hofstede’s research about national cultures.
