| Abstract: | The present report describes the action of pyrogenal on the enzymes of the antioxidant defence system in the rat liver and blood. No influence of pyrogenal on the GSH and superoxide dismutase level and the production of lipid peroxides was shown. We found that pyrogenal increases the level of the GSH-dependent enzymes in those tissues. It was concluded that this effect may be related with the immunopositive action of pyrogenal |
