Online representation of Belarus as a political subject: methodological aspects

Abstract

The aim of the article is to introduce the methodological framework for the reconstruction of a country’s image spontaneously formed in the national information space. The author defines the key concept of information space and on the example of Belarusian national information space operationalizes it through essential markers. It is argued that one of the possible and relevant methods to conduct a preliminary investigation of a country’s representation in its own national information space is content analysis. Finally, the hypothesis about the specifics of online representation of Belarus is derived.
