| Abstract: | The paper considers a notion of aphorism and its automatic subject classification. An aphorism is an original thought, spoken or written in a laconic (concise) and memorable form. According to our study the most common classification is a subject one. There are monothematic and polythematic aphorisms. During the study on the ground of analysis of selected aphorisms a detailed algorithm of automatic system for thematic classification of English aphorisms was developed |
