| Abstract: | The role of mesostigmatic mites in the soil is ambiguous. This is the least studied group of microarthropods. The following biotopes have been examined in order to describe the communities of mesostigmatic mites in the soil of the biological reserve “Prydvinje”: mossy pinery, blueberry pinery, wood sorrel spruce forest, dead soil spruce forest, grey alder glague forest, mixed forest, dry meadow, lowland meadow. Uropodidae is the most diverse family in terms of taxonomic structure, the largest in number is the family of Parasitidae.
