Abstract: This study is motivated by possible improvements of the solar cell efficiency by using plasmonic nano-structures. Recently, this subject has been recognized as one of the most promising for further development of solar cells due to the consequent reduction of the thickness photovoltaic devices and the possibility of increasing of light absorption via plasmonic effects. In this work, the results of numerical calculations of the optical properties of Si layers with ‘on-surface’ and incorporated plasmonic structures are discussed
