Abstract: The spectral properties of thiazole orange have been researched in solvents with different polarity and viscosity and presence of proteins and polyelectrolyte. The dependence of the fluorescence quantum yield of thiazole orange of viscosity in glycerol at different temperature is studied, and shown that the molecule of thiazole orange can be classified as molecular rotor. Proposed to use this dye for measurement of microviscosity of various biological fluids.
