Abstract: Slovakia ranks among the countries with the highest concentration of castles in Europe. At the beginning of the 20th century castles in Slovakia drew the focus of various tourism institutions and later the state. Many now serve as museums. The aim of the article is to evaluate the role of castles and manor-houses as a cultural attraction in Slovak tourism. To analyse the role of castles and manor-houses, the primary and secondary sources were used. The data were processed by the method of descriptive statistic. The article deals with the number of visitors in the most visited castles and manor-houses in Slovakia, tourism products and services provided by castles and the satisfaction of visitors with castles services.
