Abstract: An axially symmetric optical system for an imaging monochromator with dispersion subtraction for multiple multispectral scans is proposed and simulated numerically. This system provides minimal angles of incidence for beams on spherical objectives so that off-axis aberrations are reduced over the entire image plane. The width of the selected spectral band for individual image segments is independent of the entrance aperture size. A method of eliminating background illumination of the detector is proposed and the light losses are estimated.
