| Abstract: | In this article the parallel is drawn between Lorence Sterne's masterpieces and poetics of the "stream of consciousness” literature, the logical result of it is that Steme was the fore-runner of the modem ist novel. The main mechan ism of using of Sterne's tradition is in the “device by association of ideas ”, which is expressed on the ideological, compositional and stylistic levels of the XX novel. |
