Abstract: | The article contains an analysis of actions undertaken by the Communist party and the government institutions of the Soviet Union to stir the population of the BSSR to greater activity in the 1937-1941 period by means of anti religious information and explanatory agitational propaganda explanatory work. The Union of Militant Atheists created in the mid-twenties was defined as the chief implementer of actions planned by the Central Committee of the KP(B)B. It has been established that during this period, among the top party leaders there was no uniform view as regards carrying out atheistic education among the population. In the article the drastic administrative measures undertaken against religious organizations and groups of believers are defined as causing the greatest discontent among citizens. The author characterizes the institutional capacity of all agitation and propaganda organizations and also provides analyses of the possibilities of changing party policy in order to concentrate all atheistically adjusted citizens around the Communist Party |
