| Abstract: | This article deals with the specificity of the application of the debating technology in the national system of tertiary education which arises out of objective historical, social and cultural factors. A special consideration is given to the analysis of the status of debates in the United Kingdom and the United States (the countries of the target language) in comparison with the countries of the post-Soviet bloc. The analysis of the main groups of difficulties encountered in the process of application of this technology is also supplied along with proposed recommendations for increasing its efficiency within the framework of the national educational system. |
