Abstract

Данная статья призвана показать созвучие буддийских этических ценностей и современных биоэтических представлений. Проводятся аналогии между учением Будды и ключевыми принципами медицины, подчеркивающие единое проблемное поле обеих систем — избавление человека от страдания. В статье рассмотрены вопросы, имеющие принципиальное значение в обеих парадигмах, — рождение и смерть индивида. В контексте современной дегуманизации медицинского знания вопрос о ценности человеческой жизни приобрел новое измерение — ценности и значимости конца человеческой жизни. В связи с этим подробно рассмотрено влияние буддизма на распространение современного хосписного движения (на примере США) как стремления изменить западное отношение к умиранию и смерти. = his article aims to show the consonance of the Buddhist ethical values and ideas of modern bioethics. The article provides comparative analysis of Buddha’s teaching and the key principles of medicine, emphasizing a common problem field of both systems — the deliverance of a man from suffering. The article deals with issues of fundamental importance to both paradigms — an individual birth and death. In the context of the dehumanization of modern medical knowledge the question of the value of human life has acquired a new dimension — the question of the value and significance of the end of a human life. Therefore, the article debates in detail Buddhist influence on the development of the hospice movement in the United States as an attempt to change Western attitude towards dying and death.
