| Abstract: | Data structures for representing arbitrary tree-like switch-based network topologies are proposed. Three classes of network routes are discussed (addressed, broadcast, multicast), algorithms for complete path calculation of each class are proposed. Transport layer effects of TCP/IP protocol stack are studied, estimates for UDP-datagram loss probability and TCP-segment transmission time are given. Results of channel layer and transport layer effects are calculated, compared and analyzed. |
