Внешняя политика Республики Беларусь: первые итоги первого десятилетия

Abstract

The article considers the first results of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus in the 1990s. The previous history of foreign political activity of Belarus in the 20th century is characterised at the example of the Belarusian People's Republic and the BSSR. The article covers the process of international recognition of the Republic of Belarus and analyses the development of its foreign policy conception and the implementation of its foreign policy priorities. Two stages in the Belarusian foreign policy history in the 1990s are identified. The article explores the main directions in the foreign policy of Belarus in the sphere of bilateral and multilateral diplomacy and external economic activity. The author suggests his own evaluation of achievements and failures of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus.
