Internet Technology – Empowers Young Chinese Women to Find High-Quality Employment

Abstract

As the underlying technology of various digital technologies, Internet technology has profoundly changed people's daily lives and working methods. Whether it can empower the economic and social status of young women deserves in-depth exploration. To this end, based on data from the 2010, 2015, and 2021 Chinese General Social Survey, this study uses the least squares and quantile regression models to examine the impact of internet use on the salary wages of young Chinese women. The results show that internet use significantly increases the salary wages of young Chinese women, and as their salary wages rise, the effect of internet use on their wages increases. The research conclusion reveals the important role of using Internet technology in the salary wages of young women, and have implications for enhancing the economic and social status of young women
