Belarusian correctional facilities: problems and modern solutions

Abstract

In the Republic of Belarus the topic of correctional institutions and their prospective improvements has recently gained in popularity. The research object includes Belarusian correctional facilities. The objective of the research is to investigate and list all the current problems and come up with a viable solution. The research involves the comparative study of different types of Belarusian correctional facilities, reference to international documents and personal evaluation of feasible solutions. The study is valuable because the considered object rarely becomes a matter of scientific discussions and debates. Moreover, the findings may be practically applied as a ground for potential reformation and enhancement. All the terminology used in the study is carefully explained which makes it reliable for a broad spectrum of readers. The research is intended to draw the attention of Belarusian society both to the very important problem and to the probable solution. The peculiarity of the study is that it deals with the problem at the international level based on available national instruments. The solution found is achievable and accessible even for the time being
