| Abstract: | В статье анализируются изменения в порядке назначения чиновников уездной полиции в белорусских губерниях во второй половине правления императора Александра I. Отмена выборов дворянством полицейских чиновников была обусловлена необходимостью повысить профессиональный уровень полиции, ослабить ее зависимость от местного дворянства. Однако такая политика не была направлена на сокращение доли местных уроженцев среди полицейских чиновников. |
| Abstract (in another language): | The article analyzes the changes in the procedure for the appointment of county police officers in the Belarusian provinces in the second half of the reign of Emperor Alexander I. The abolition of elections by the nobility of police officials was due to the need to increase the professional level of the police, to weaken its dependence on the local nobility. However, this policy was not aimed at reducing the proportion of local natives among police officials. |
