Конъюгационная передача F’lac-плазмиды бактериям группы Erwinia сarotovora

Abstract

Bacteria of 60 virulent strains Erwinia carotovora subsp. carotovora and Erwinia carotovora subsp. atroseptica were crossed with E.coli donor cells, carrying plasmid F’lac. Among these recipient strains only three were able to perceive and to maintain the sex factor of E.coli. The frequency of the plasmid transfer in such matings was rather low: 10'7-10'3 per donor cell. The comparative efficiency of the heterologous and isogenic matings differentiated the role of the modification and restriction system and still unknown Erwinia strain features in decreasing of the plasmid transfer frequency.
