Формально-структурный и семантический критерии разграничения присоединения и парцелляции

Abstract

The article deals with the differentiation of the concepts of conjunction, or joining, and its adjacent phenomenon – parcelling. The authors touch upon the history of the issue and cover various approaches to defining the essence of conjunction and parcelling. Common features of parcelling and conjunction as well as their peculiarities are revealed, which allows to distinguish clearly between these two phenomena. The given phenomena are analysed on the examples from newspaper articles in Belarusian and English. A conclusion is drawn that formal-structural and semantic criteria are sufficient for differentiating between parcelling and conjunction
