dc.description.abstractNew types of collective effects in the ensemble of quantum confined semiconductor nanocrystals are discussed. Highly localized electron states in individual nanocrystals transform to the collective extended states in close packed ensembles, which result in dramatic changes in optical properties. When incorporated into spherical microcavity (photonic dot) the quantized electron states of nanocrystals are coupled strongly to quantized photon states in photonic dot resulting in unusual properties, like Purcell effect, room tempeature low threshold lasing, optical modeblinking.ru
