Abstract: The effect of water-soluble polymers on the stability and dispersity of carbon active tablets suspensions has been studied. It was established that such polymers binders as poly( vinyl alcohol) , carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl cellulose do not increase carbon active suspensions stability. At the same time carbon tablets suspensions containing new water-soluble cellulose derivative have heightened aggregative and sedimentation stability. This accounts for by the appearance of the hydrophilic properties o f the carbon particles surface. This hydrophilization is the result of cellulose derivative absorption on this surface. The particles of initial carbon and traditional tablets do not possess hydrophilic properties.
